Cyclomander

Happy July Fourth! I celebrated by staying in the house as much as possible to beat the heat, and watching "Independence Day" on DVD. Oh, and drawing a one eyed lizard.

For some reason I tend to draw a lot of one eyed creatures. Maybe it's laziness. If I only draw one eye, then I save the time and effort it would take to draw a second.

Drawn in Photoshop on the graphic tablet.

Here's the original rough sketch. Nothing much changed in the final drawing.

  1. He's so cute!!! If this fella wants to look up at something, does the whole eye limb bend upward or does his eyeball just roll in whatever direction? Enquiring minds want to know.

  2. Hmm. I didn't think that much about his anatomy. I would assume he moves his eye stalk around to look at things. He probably has an eyelid in there somewhere too.

  3. After painstakingly modeling it up in my Super Duper Creature Simulation Program (also known by some as Spore), I can confirm that the eye stalk does indeed move.
