The HCU

It's Thanksgiving again, so you know what that means— yet another interminable post about one of my all-time favorite movies, Planes, Trains And Automobiles!

In 1986's Ferris Bueller's Day Off, actor Lyman Ward played the titular character's father Tom.

One year later, Ward showed up in Planes, Trains And Automobiles as Neal Page's colleague and fellow marketing executive.

The characters bear a striking resemblance to one another and both of them lived in Chicago. I'm convinced they're the same person, and Neal Page is friends with Ferris Bueller's dad.

Note that both movies were written and directed by the late, great John Hughes, and they clearly take place in the same world.

It's all part of the Hughes Cinematic Universe, which existed long before the MCU!
