Surly September

I've got this daily journal (it's not a diary!) that contains calendar pages at the beginning of every month. Since I do the exact same thing every single day of my life, I have little use for the calendar pages, so I've been filling each day's square with a doodle.

Here are the calendar pages for September. As you might recall, I had an unpleasant August (actually the whole year so far ain't been all that great) and the the calendar doodles from that month reflected that... with gusto.

So far September's been a little better. We'll see how it goes.

  1. They are FANTASTIC! I tried to pick a favorite but couldn't narrow it down! #25 freaks me out though. It could be a boogy or a *gulp* worm, ackkkkkk!

  2. Yes this one isn't so angry. It's maybe a little fearful, possible out of worry of what the future holds. I will charge $300 for that psychoanalysis.

  3. Thanks, Dawn! I like the bear thing on the 3rd, but I think my favorite is the lady on the 22nd. Freaky!

KW: When I do these doodles, I don't have anything in mind. I usually start drawing some eyes, and things just sort of come out of the pen after that, with no plan. It sounds weird, but even though I'm sitting there drawing them, they surprise me. So I guess they really are indicators of what I'm thinking at the time.
