Insert Your Own "Pecker" Joke Here...

Saw this tanker truck on the way to work this morning. I tried to get behind it by running several cars off the highway, but that last one beside me just wouldn't budge. This was as close as I could get.

If you squint, you can see a small sign on the back of the truck that reads, "Please do not peck on tank." I have to wonder for whom this sign is meant. If it's meant for humans then why would they say "Do not peck?" Has there been a rash of people coming up and bashing their noses against the sides of the tank? Wouldn't "Do not tap" or "Do not punch through side of tank" be a better way to phrase it?

Maybe the sign isn't for humans at all, but really is meant for birds. Perhaps Reagent Chemical's trucks have recently been attacked by flocks of angry birds, causing untold property damage. I surely hope not. The idea that a bird's beak is of sufficient strength the penetrate the side of a tanker truck carrying toxic waste frankly worries me.

I know! The message is meant for internationally famous rogue kaiju Rodan! His enormous beak would almost certainly be strong enough to penetrate the tank, and his proportionately huge brain no doubt allows him to read at a third grade level. Yep, it's definitely meant for Rodan. It's the only explanation that makes any sense.

  1. Saw this sign yesterday. Agreed that this is the only explanation that makes sense.
