I recently watched The Ice Warriors, an episode of Classic Doctor Who from 1967. It's a pretty good episode and stars Patrick Troughton as the Second Doctor. It's also the first ever appearance of the fairly iconic Ice Warriors.
One of the characters in the episode, Elric Penley, was played by actor Peter Sallis.
It struck my while watching the episode that Sallis bears more than a passing resemblance to Captain Haddock from the Tintin comics! Most likely it's the odd beard, that covers everything but his lips.
Too bad they never made a live action Tintin movie back in the 1960s-- Sallis would have been perfect casting!
I haven't seen that episode yet. Does he get to say "Lovely cheese, Gromit"?
