Bad news for fans of Duck Dynasty in particular and musical theater in general!
As hard as it is to believe, The Duck Commander Musical, which apparently is a real thing, has been cancelled after playing for just one month at the Crown Theater in Las Vegas. Say it ain't so, Uncle Si!
The musical, which was based on the book Duck Commander Family by Willie and Korie Robertson, told the true-life, rags-to-riches story of the Robertson family, stars of A&E's inexplicably popular Duck Dynasty reality show.
The musical, which opened April 15, somehow failed to catch on with fans, playing to a near-empty 680 seat theater every night.
Producers of the show are at a loss to explain the lack of interest in the show. Because Lord knows, if there's one thing redneck, gun-toting homophobes love more than anything, it's musical theater.
After the cancellation, the producers plan to take the show on the road in hopes of finding an audience for the Robertson clan's wacky antics. Look for them soon in a town near you!
