Happy 50th, Um... Cancellation Anniversary To Star Trek

On this date (June 3rd) in 1969, Star Trek closed out its third season with its last-ever episode, Turnabout Intruder (aka the one where a crazy broad switches bodies with Captain Kirk). That was a whopping fifty years ago! FIFTY YEARS! Holy cow!

I wonder if anyone at the time had even the slightest inkling that we'd still be talking about the show and watching it five decades later? Or that it would become a huge franchise, spawning six subsequent series and over a dozen theatrical movies? Doubtful.
