Special Blog Announcement! (Blogouncement?)

Welp, guys, I didn't want to have to do this, but I've got no choice.

I've always welcomed feedback here at Bob Canada's BlogWorld, and looked forward to hearing from my readers. 

Unfortunately, about a month ago my blog's inbox started getting spammed with porn comments. Lovely little missives like:

"WE SHOULD FUCK. Like right now, right here. Hard, fast. Pin me down, kiss me hard, look me in the eyes and fuck me like you’ve never fucked someone before. Hey, i am looking for an online sex partner."

How positively classy.

At first it was just one or two of these a day. I moderate all the comments that come to my blog, so I would just mark 'em as spam and delete them, so none got through. No big deal.

But then the one or two turned into five or six a day. Then seven or eight. Over this past weekend the porn spam exploded, and I'm not getting like fifteen or twenty of them a day. It's taking an inordinate amount of time to mark & delete 'em all. More time than it's worth.

I reached out to Blogger about the matter, but of course they were no help. Actually I'm not sure there's anything they could do about it anyway, but I still wanted to let them know what was happening.

So as a result of this crap, I've decided to shut off my blog comments. For a little while, at least. I know this will come as a blow to the three of you who normally comment, but it has to be done. Maybe I'll turn the comments on again after a couple months.

This is why we can't have nice things!
