Push Back

Earlier this year, Mike Lindell— founder of the My Pillow company and certified insane person— announced that he had incontrovertible evidence that donald j. trump would be "reinstated" as president sometime in July.

Lindell failed to mention just how this momentous shift in our government would happen, since there's no actual mechanism in place to overturn an election result once a candidate is legally elected.

Despite this, Lindell assured anyone who would listen that it was inevitable and was most definitely happening.

Once July approached though, Lindell revised his earlier estimate, pushing trump's re-ascension back to August 13— a day that would no doubt live in infamy, were that to occur.

Lindell's been touting this August 13th date in numerous interviews and on his own ad hoc internet channel.

Of course now that we're halfway through July and August is fast approaching, Lindell's updated his calendar yet again! He's now claiming trump will regain the presidency "sometime" in September.

Expect this constant rescheduling to occur for the next three and a half years.

The whole thing reminds me of Parks & Recreation. In the episode End Of The World, Leslie Knope states that every year a local doomsday cult called the Reasonabilists predicts that their god Zorp will appear and destroy the planet. Each year she allows them to hold an all night vigil in Ramsett Park to await the coming of Zorp.

Or course Zorp never arrives, so Herb Scaifer— the leader of the Reasonabilists— will "reinterpret" his sacred texts and announce his earlier calculations were off, and then schedule Zorp's return for a new date the next year.

Sounds pretty familiar, eh? The difference here though is that the Reasonabilists were harmless crackpots, as opposed to Lindell and his MAGA crowd, who are actively attempting a coup to overthrow the legal government.
