Three Years And Counting!

Last week Seth MacFarlane announced the premiere date for the long, LONG awaited third season of The Orville. According to him, the show will return on... March 10, 2022. Holy Spaceballs!

If you'll recall, the last new episode of the series was The Road Not Taken. Amazingly, it aired wayyyyy back on April 25, 2019. That means it'll be damned close to a whopping THREE FULL YEARS between Seasons 2 and 3.

Jesus Christ! OK, I get that there've been numerous real world events (such as changing networks, along with that whole pesky pandemic thing) that threw a wrench into the show's production schedule, but man... a three year delay seems a bit excessive to me.

To make matters potentially worse (if that's possible at this point), days after MacFarlane's announcement, rumors began circulating that Hollywood union members might organize a massive strike for better pay! If that happens, you can bet your bottom dollar the Season 3 premiere will be delayed even further.

By the time the show comes back, Dr. Finn's kids will be old enough to get their space driver's licenses! And just in case you think I'm exaggerating, it's been so long since the show's been on that members of the cast (such as Norm Macdonald) are starting to die off!
