Christmas Cards 2003

Apparently I must have decided against making my own cards for 2001 and 2002. But I was back in 2003! That year I decided why should I make just one card, when I could make a different one for each person on my list? So I got out some DVDs, made some screen captures and printed up an entire series of heartwarming holiday greeting cards with a decidedly Hollywood flavor.

It was a proud moment for me when I went to my parent's house for the holidays and saw a "War of the Worlds" Christmas card taped up over their mantle. Well, over the living room door at least. They don't have a mantle.

Gather the whole family around the monitor and view them together. Enjoy!

(Extra points if you can identify the movies in the card images!)

  2. Thanks, Brad! I was trying to come up with the most incongruous images I could.

I think "The Birds" card is my favorite. The "Season's Greetings" superimposed over that scene makes such a bizarre and ridiculous image.

I kind of like the "Shining" twins and the Jack Torrance ones as well.

  7. It adds a whole 'nother dimension when you bring up seeing the War of the Worlds taped on your parents' mantle. I imagine they're like my parents, "Oh geez, look what he did THIS time..." I love 'em! They're so irreverent and hilarious.

  8. Eric Blair: Thanks! Glad you like 'em. It was funny to see the WOTW card hanging next to all the cards with Xmas trees, Santas and Stars of Bethlehem.
