Look what finally came in the mail! My very own official Office Space Milton Swingline Stapler! Woohoo!
It's currently being proudly displayed on my desk at work, which is only fitting seeing as I live out the goddamned movie five days a week.
I can't believe it took a whopping TWENTY years for someone to FINALLY make one of these! Swingline began selling red staplers shortly after the movie premiered, but they were just hastily painted versions of pre-existing models, and looked nothing like the one in the film.
This one's an official screen-accurate recreation of the actual movie prop. Which is important to an frighteningly obsessive stickler for details like myself.
It's definitely a thing of beauty, but I have one small complaint. The bottom's metal as all good staplers should be, but for some reason they made the top out of plastic. I assume that's because the movie prop featured a custom-made contoured top, and it was easier for Swingline to duplicate it in plastic rather than metal.
If you can live with that though and you're a fan of Office Space, I can't recommend it highly enough.
Just don't loan it out to anyone...
