R.I.P. Rip

Sad to hear of the death of Rip Taylor, who died today at age 84.

Taylor popped up on every single game and variety show from the 1970s through 1990s. His act was as unchanging as the sun— every time he was introduced, he'd run out onstage with a large shopping bag, then reach into it and toss pounds and pounds of confetti all over the set and the audience. That's pretty much it!

Despite the simplicity and silliness of his act, his outrageous antics always made me laugh. Or at least smile.

I don't really have anything profound to say about him, I just wanted to write "R.I.P. Rip."
