Despite his relatively diminutive size (approximately 3' 5") Commander Furfington was a ruthless officer and a formidable strategist, conquering every solar system in his path.
Sure, I said to myself, draw a character with soft, silky fur. It'll be fun, I said. It'll be easy. It'll look really cool, I lied to myself. Seventy five revisions later, I finally had a version of his head that I could live with.

Here's the original sketch of the Commander. I added shoulder pads to the final drawing because the shoulder area just didn't look right.
