This Week In Ill-Advised Halloween Costumes UPDATE!

Two weeks ago I posted this: a story about an ill-advised Ebola Containment Suit Halloween costume, designed solely to cash in the nation's health scare and sure to fan the flames of irrational fear and rampant paranoia.

The fact that a costume of such questionable taste didn't surprise me. The only thing that did astonish me is that there was no Sexy Ebola Containment Suit Costume. Yet...

How frighteningly prescient I can be at times.

Behold the Sexy Ebola Containment Suit costume! I guess it was inevitable, like Daylight Savings Time and the appearance of ear hair.

Actually it's not all that hard to predict things like this. All you have to do is ask yourself, "What's the worst or least tasteful thing that our sorry excuse for a society could come up with right now?" Whatever answer you come up with will magically appear within days. Go ahead, try it!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but does it seem like this costume isn't all that sexy? Heck, I've seen Sexy Mother Superior costumes that showed more skin.

Let It Go UPDATE!

Previously on Bob Canada's BlogWorld:

Last week I predicted that sometime in the next month, some company somewhere would come out with a Sexy Elsa costume from Disney's bafflingly popular movie Frozen, despite the fact that it's a film targeted to little girls.

Well that didn't take long. The Sexy Halloween Costume Industry did not disappoint, and came through. Boy, did they come through!

Erotic lingerie company Yandy just released not one, but 2, count 'em TWO, Sexy Elsa costumes.

They even made a Sexy Anna costume for girls with less self esteem.

They don't actually call them Sexy Elsa and Anna though, as that would trigger a knock on their door from the Disney Attorney Squadron. They're calling the costumes "Ice Girl" and "Norwegian Maiden," but it's patently obvious who they're supposed to be.

See? Told you I did! I totally called this whole sorry situation.

And god help us, but they're even making a gender-bending Sexy Olaf costume, for those who feel the world isn't disturbing and horrifying enough.

I suppose we should thank our lucky stars they put the carrot on her nose.

Let It Go!

OK, I haven't seen any Halloween costumes for 2014 yet, mainly because none of those temporary costume stores have popped up yet around here. So I have no idea what kind of costumes are out there.

But I'm officially calling it right now: At some point in the next month there will be a Sexy Elsa costume from Disney's inexplicably super popular hit Frozen. It's pretty much a given. And why not? What little girl wouldn't want to dress as a slutty knockoff version of her favorite super powered heroine?

Myself, I don't know from Frozen. I'm still hoping we get a Sexy Annie Wilkes from Misery.

That Ain't Right Update!

A week or so ago I posted an entry about the Sexy Sesame Street Halloween costumes being sold by Yandy.com, that were apparently (and somewhat unbelievably) officially authorized by Sesame Workshop, the current stewards of the characters. You can read all about it here.

Since then there have been some new developments in the saga.

The Sexy Sesame Street costumes are part of the rampant "Sexy Blank" plague that's been sweeping the world of Halloween merchandise for the past decade of so, and closely resemble traditional hooker-wear. It's now come to light though that Sesame Workshop only authorized the design and sale of the masks, not the rest of the outfit (the model's wearing a mask?). They had no idea it would be used in conjunction with a sexy costume (although one would think a quick glance at the Yandy website would have clued them in).

Obviously the CEO of Sesame Workshop is a regular reader of my blog (as millions are) and when he read my report on the unauthorized costume, his hat flew off his head, he did a spit take and yelled into his intercom for his corporate lawyer. And then he got mad!

Needless to say Sesame Workshop is not happy with the way Yandy is using their creations and are threatening legal action unless they pull the costumes from their website immediately.

I think Nelson Muntz said it best:

That Ain't Right Part Two

Recently I blogged about the highly inappropriate Sexy Sesame Street Halloween costumes, and predicted that at our current rate of Sluttification, our society would soon run out of pop culture subjects to sluttify. I worried that by 2016 we'd be reduced to creating costumes such as Sexy Blender and Sexy Ball Peen Hammer.

I'm afraid it's worse than I thought. It's already happened. We have definitely run out of sexy character fodder and have begun using inanimate objects.

Case in point:
The Sexy Corn costume.

I... I don't even know how to respond to this. I need to go lie down for a while. Perhaps volunteer to read to the blind or something.
