Madge's hobbies are bingo, smoking, mah-jongg, monitoring the neighbors, smoking, telling her husband to stop slouching, tanning, asking her daughter when she's going to marry and smoking.
In my mind Madge has an alarmingly deep voice and sounds like she's from "New Yawk."
I used Kuler to come up with a suitable color scheme. Check it out, it's a cool little site.

My first thought was "Marge" from the Simpsons. And yes, the personality you describe seems to suit her appearance. Kinda like Betty Rubble + Marge Simpson + Fran Drescher all thrown together with a little bit of vodka and way too many cigarettes!
ReplyDeleteKeep it up! How do ya think of these things? Do ya just get visions in yer head and then draw 'em out? Artists amaze me.
Thanks for the kind words!
ReplyDeleteAs to where the stuff comes from, when I get bored I start to doodle. I'll fill up a whole page with characters, squiggles, rows & rows of lines, anything. Most of the time I don't even think about what I'm doing, I just draw. And sometimes a character will pop out and I'll think it's worth turning into a proper drawing.
That's about as close as I can get to an answer.
