Today on Design On A Dime: Doctor Who: Our first look at the brand new TARDIS interior, which, based on the Doctor's Dickensian attire, will debut sometime during the upcoming Christmas Special.
I like it! It's got a nice retro feel to it, recalling the hexagonal TARDIS console from the early days of the show.
I always liked the Tenth Doctor's "coral themed" TARDIS interior quite a bit, what with its steampunk look, vast domed ceiling and cobbled together appearance. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the Eleventh Doctor's current interior though. It looks like a tin-plated disco dance floor to me. I can't figure it out either-- there's all kinds of levels and the walls go off every which way-- I can never quite tell what I'm looking at. It was just a jumbled mess to my eyes.
This new interior looks like they've simplified things quite a bit, which I think is a good thing. Remember KISS (Keep It Simple, Stupid) whenever you're designing something and you won't go wrong.
Looking forward to seeing the new interior in action!
