Researchers at Ontario's Trent University analyzed the meat, and found it contained just 53.6% chicken DNA.
Unfortunately the other 46.4% was DNA from this.
Subway of course vehemently denied they were using meat from floating Guardians harvested from the lower levels Chinese warlord David Lo Pan's citadel, saying the other DNA in the chicken came from soy.

Naturally Subway took issue with this analysis. Subway President and CEO Suzanne Greco stated, “Our customers can have confidence in our food. The allegation that our chicken is only 50% chicken is 100% wrong."
That seems unlikely, as similar studies revealed that no fast food restaurant's chicken is 100% pure poultry. A&W's is 89.4% chicken, McDonald's is 84.9%, and Wendys is 88.5%.
This isn't the first time Subway's been in the news for questionable ingredients. Back in 2014 the chain was in trouble when it was discovered that their bread contained azodicarbonamide, a chemical used in the manufacturing of yoga mats! Mmm-mmm!
