Hey kids, it's that time of year again! Time when I remind everyone about Universal Studios' Dark Universe Shared Cinematic Universe, and congratulate them on how successful it turned out to be for them!
Remember back in 2017 when The Mummy premiered, and Universal Studios announced their new Dark Universe? You know, their shared movie universe that was gonna give the MCU a run for its money?
Remember that? I know I do! I can't wait to see more thrilling adventures from Tom Cruise as an immortal mummy man, Russell Crowe as Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde, Javier Bardem as Frankenstein's Monster, Johnny Depp as the Invisible Man, and... ohhhhhhhh. Right.
How embarrassing!
There's a lesson here for other studios, even though they'll never learn from it. Something about chickens, eggs and hatching.
