Doctor Who?

Welp, it finally happened.

In an effort to try and control spoilers and leaked info, today the BBC announced who'll be playing the Doctor in Season 11 of Doctor Who.

And the winner is.... Jodie Whittaker, whoever the hell that is.

Take that, Patriarchy! In your face, old white men! You just got served! Women can play fictional characters traditionally written as male just as well as you can!

So what do I think of this decision, you ask? Well, Mom always told me, "If you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all," so...

  1. Are you done with Doctor Who now? No more poster updates?

  2. I haven't decided yet. I'll probably watch her first episode and see what she's like and then make up my mind.

Whether I continue watching or not, the Doctor Who reviews are over for the time being. Reviewing five TV shows and a movie every week was starting to become a strain, so this seems like a good point to streamline a bit.

Call me out of touch or a dinosaur if you want, but I just don't care for the idea of the Doctor turning into a woman. Oddly enough, I have no problem with the concept of a female lead though. If the producers felt the show needed a woman as the main character, then I wish they'd have sent the Doctor off on a mission and brought in his daughter Jenny to take over for a while. Even better, create a NEW Time Lady to fill in for him. I'd have been completely on board with that.

I doubt there will be any poster updates either. Mainly because there's just no more room to cram another character on the page, unless I start eliminating the fact boxes, which was the point of the whole infographic.
