C-3POXL

This week Vanity Fair released a crap ton of behind the scenes photos from Star Wars: Episode IX or whatever the hell it's called, including this shot of C-3PO.

Hmm... I've been staring at photos of this robot for most of my life— since the original film came out back in 1977— so I know every line and art deco detail of his shiny gold body. Believe me when I tell you that 3PO definitely looks a little... thicker in this photo that he used to.

Do robots put on weight?

Actor Anthony Daniels, who's played 3PO since 1977, has always been a thin and slender man. I'm betting though that he's put on a few pounds in his later years, and could no longer stuff himself into the original robot suit. Nuttin' to be ashamed of— happens to us all!

Somebody put that droid on a diet, stat!

3PO Got Back!

This week Sideshow Toys released a really nifty 1/6 scale C-3PO action figure. It looks suitably awesome, but I won't be buying it. Unfortunately my money's already earmarked for stupid things like food and shelter.

Anyhow, check out this photo of everyone's favorite golden droid. Even though the character's been around for almost forty years, this is the first time I've ever noticed 3PO's magnificently sculpted ass cheeks!

Looks like someone's been hitting the gym!
