Anti-Anti-Vaxxer Part 2!

Good news, everyone— I'm now fully vaccinated! I went to the clinic yesterday and got my second shot today. Woohoo!

Now Bill Gates can start tracking me with his 5G towers! Cool!

As with the first injection, there wasn't anything to it. A barely-felt pinprick and it was done. The entire process took twenty minutes. Including the fifteen minute observation period after.

As for side effects— meh. They're minor at best. As happened the first time, my arm's a little sore when I raise it. And I feel a little tired & draggy. A little more so this time than the first. But it's not like I'm bedridden or anything.

I'm glad it's finally done, as I now feel a little safer. Note that the vaccines don't prevent you from getting Covid— as effective as there are, there's still a 5% chance of contracting the virus. From what I understand though, if I do get it, the symptoms will be much milder than if I wasn't vaccinated. 

If you've been harboring fears or reservations about getting the vaccine, please don't. There's nothing to it, it doesn't hurt and as I said, the side effects are minimal. And it's absolutely vital that we all do our part and get vaccinated, or we're never going to get rid of this crap. Do you want a second year of lockdowns? I know I don't!

I've officially been vaccinated!

Last week my home state of Indiana finally opened vaccinations to people in my age group. So I went online & made an appointment, pronto. I had my choice of four locations and either of the two vaccines available at the time. Two were offering the Moderna, two the Pfizer. I looked 'em up to see if there was any difference, and the Pfizer one is supposedly 1% more effective than the other, so I opted for that one.

One of the locations I could have gone to was the Walmart pharmacy! Yikes! I didn't want anyone at freakin' Walmart jabbin' me, so I crossed them off the list.

I ended up going to a clinic downtown. It couldn't have been easier! I checked in, walked down a hall and was called into an exam room where they administered the injection.

The entire process took twenty minutes— twenty five tops. And that was counting the fifteen minutes they make you wait afterward to see if you have a reaction to it. It didn't even hurt. Just a tiny, barely noticeable pinprick. I go back in about three weeks for Part 2.

As for side effects— meh. They were minor at most. My arm hurt a little the next day, but it was nothing debilitating. I felt a bit tired and draggy the next day as well, but I honestly don't know if that was from the vaccine, or just my normal, constant level of fatigue. It's not like I was bedridden or anything— I even went out and ran some errands.

I was excited to finally get it done (well, half done), as maybe now I can finally start returning to a tiny semblance of normality. I realize I'll still have to wear a mask— most likely for the rest of the year. But at least now I won't live in constant fear that the simple act of grocery shopping will kill me.
