Tales From The Grocery: Cleanliness Is Next To Godliness

A year ago I got a second job as a cashier at a grocery store in order to pay off some bills. It was a miserable, humiliating and demoralizing experience in every measurable sense, and I got the hell out of there as soon as my bills were paid. I feel genuinely sorry for anyone who has to work in such a place.

Here is another terrifying Tale From The Grocery. All Tales are 100% true.

I reported for duty on my very first day at this grocery store. Right before I clocked in for the first time I went into the employee restroom.

While I was in there an employee wearing a deli uniform exited the one and only stall. He nodded as he walked past me and went right out the door without getting anywhere near the sink. Yes folks, a deli employee took a dump and didn’t wash his hands before returning to work. Think about that the next time you buy a pound of bologna.

I decided then and there that I would not be buying anything at this store, ever.
