The Eyeball Kid

It's the Eyeball Kid! Shown here brooding about how hard it is to find hats that fit. And sunglasses.

Practicing my painterly skills here, trying to be looser with the brush strokes instead of drawing the usual cartoon outlines.

His hair came out a little more bird nest-like than I intended, but it'll have to do. I'm not redrawing all 11,000 individual hairs.

The Eyeball Kid was drawn in Photoshop on the graphic tablet.

Here's the original pen & ink sketchbook doodle I did of the Kid. I changed a couple of things in the final drawing, namely adding a right ear and making his expression a bit sterner. Oh, and actually making his eyeball a circle instead of the deflated, pillowy thing it is here.

  1. I like this guy. If you made a story about him you could have him hide in a tree, and the people he's hiding from see his hair and giant eye and think he's a bird egg in a nest, so they move on.
Then he spies their plans from afar with his eye and foils their plans.

  2. Or he's constantly having to fend off birds who want to sit on the "egg" in the nest on his head.
