Out Of Context Star Trek Moment

I've been an avid Star Trek fan for many decades, but even I have to admit that certain episodes could get a little silly now and then, especially when viewed out of context.

So sit back and enjoy these historical Out Of Context Moments!

This particular episode, The Savage Curtain, is an absolute gold mine of out of context moments. 

"Um... Captain, sensors indicate there's a president dead ahead."

"Gentlemen, permit me to introduce myself. I'm Space Lincoln."

"Am I not destroying my enemies when I make friends of them?"

"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the.. ehh, you know how that one goes!"

"Awk-warrrrrrrd!"

"I don't understand, my good Captain. Why are we entering this rounded chamber?"

"Energize."

"Oh sweet Jesus! MO-MEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

"I don't see why I can't have one of those fancy pistols you're both carrying."

Frankenstein 014: FrankenLincoln

Another entry in my ongoing and intermibable 100 Frankensteins Project. It's taking longer than I thought.

Like any self respecting mad scientist, I decided to combine two of my favorite things and came up with: FrankenLincoln!

Yes, it's FrankenLincoln, the Great E-monster-pator, in all his presidential glory. Looks like he's just about to give his stirring Deadies-Burg Address!

I would like to formally and sincerely apologize for those jokes.

Here's the first rough sketch I did of FrankenLincoln.

I also did this tighter digital sketch of him, but then decided that I wasn't crazy about the walking pose. I then drew another sketch of him standing upright with his legs ramrod straight. I wasn't crazy about that one either so I redrew him yet again in the pose seen in the final drawing.

As for the colors, I was attempting to make it look like an old daguerreotype. Really, spell check? You have "daguerreotype" in your database? I bet that word comes up a lot.

Alien Lincoln

Something I doodled a while back and finally got around to illustrating.

As usual, a simple little drawing mushroomed into something much more complicated. While I was drawing Alien Abe, the idea to turn it into a pseudo 1970s-style movie poster popped into my head, complete with folds and aging effects.

I'm not sure about that tag line, but it was the best I could come up with. It's tough to turn a Lincoln quote into a violent movie catchphrase.

I haven't quite decided on an origin for Alien Lincoln. Maybe he came to Earth in the 1860s and was so impressed with the real Lincoln that he shape shifted to resemble him and tries to live by his example (but doesn't quite measure up to the philosophies of the Great Emancipator). Or maybe not.

I need to work on the red stripe some more. I think it needs to look more like splashed blood. Not entirely happy with the Lincoln logo either, so I may tweak that as well. I'm happy with the way the steampunk raygun turned out though.
